This is the Vancouver Bird Alert for Saturday November 9th, evening update,
sponsored in part by the Wild Birds Unlimited stores in Vancouver and North
Vancouver.

Featured birds is possible Vega type HERRING GULL.

Sightings for November 9

The gull thought to be a Vega type HERRING GULL was again reported from a
large gull roost NW of Burns Dr. & 96th in Delta. Photos are desired of
this bird.

At Colony Farm RP came the report of an AMERICAN BITTERN, NORTHERN SHRIKE
and a female RING-NECKED DUCK.

November 8

Seen from the foot of 12th at Beach Grove were 15 BRANT.

November 5

The AMERICAN AVOCET was seen at Elgin Heritage Park near the foot bridge.

Amongst a large gull roost on the east side of 96th St. north of Burns Rd.
in Delta was a bird thought to be a 1st winter Vega type HERRING GULL.

November 4

An AMERICAN AVOCET was observed at Elgin Heritage Park off Crescent Rd. in
Surrey.

An AMERICAN TREE SPARROW was seen along Kennedy Rd. near Kilby Provincial
Park in the Fraser Valley.
