Hi Tweets,

Yesterday afternoon I went out for a few hours, mostly
looking for raptors on the flats. I started near
Silvana and then worked my way up past Boe and Thomle
Roads, onto Fir Island and then took Farm to Market
road onto the Samish flats. In general, numbers of
raptors were fairly decent, although I only
encountered 3 Rough-legged Hawks (one dark morph on
Boe Road) and a single peregrine near the west 90 I
found atleast 30 Red-tailed Hawks as well as about a
dozen harriers and 7 Bald Eagles along this route. I
was unsuccessful in locating the Snow Buntings on Fir
Island that were present last weekend, and the I only
swans I found were 3 Trumpeter Swans in a field on Fir
Island. The only non-raptoral highlights of the day
was on 7th Ave NE, where it meets Pioneer Hwy, just
east of Silvana. I spent some time scanning the large
blackbird flock here hoping for a Rusty and came away
with a female Yellow-headed Blackbird.
