Sightings for Monday, November 11th - 8:30 PM update

Sightings for November 11th

Two female type RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS were seen from the trailer park at
the Head of the Lake, in Vernon (CC,CS,DC). Along the road in to the trailer
park, 12 GRAY PARTRIDGE were also noted (CC,CS,DC).

Two DUNLIN and an adult MEW GULL were seen on the Salmon Arm foreshore
(CC,CS,DC).

Along Otter Lake Road, just S. of Otter Lake, were 17 CEDAR WAXWINGS and at
least one AMERICAN TREE SPARROW (CC,CS,DC).

At 2700 Lakeridge Road, on Kelowna's Westside, the BLUE JAY continues to
visit the feeder. It seems to be most regular in the morning (EF). Call Elke
at 769-4419 for updates. Another BLUE JAY is visiting a feeder, west of
Summerland on Fish Lake Road (LR,ED). More details will be presented on the
next update.

In Kalamoir Park, also on the Westside, was a BROWN CREEPER and a few
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET (EF,LRob).


Sightings for November 10th

An adult winter RED-THROATED LOON was in Vernon, on Nov 9th, seen from the
trailer park at the Head of the Lake (DC,CS).

Two THAYER'S GULLS, an adult and a first winter bird, were at the mouth of
Vernon Ck in Vernon on the 9th and 10th (CS,DC).

An adult male EURASIAN WIGEON was on Thomson Pond, which is W. of Predator
Ridge, on the Vernon Commonage (CS).

Two and possibly three RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS were with 39 COMMON
MERGANSERS on Okanagan Lk, in Penticton, near the SS Sicamous (LR).

A hike behind the Summerland Research Station produced a NORTHERN GOSHAWK
(LR).

In the Trout Ck area of Summerland, 2 AMERICAN KESTRELS were observed, as
were 23 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, the first reported this season (LR).


Sightings for November 7th

A pair of BLUE JAYS spent the morning visiting a feeder at 2700 Lakeridge
Road on Kelowna's Westside (EF). Call Elke at 769-4419 for updates.

In Summerland, 5-800 REDHEADS were noted on Okanagan Lake, off Sunoka Beach
(LR).
