Hi folks,

Not much to report here, things have been pretty quiet. The leucistic/pied
crow down at the Golden Gardens pond has come up quite lame. A few days ago
it had a very gnarled foot, now the foot is gone. It's not moving well and
is barely getting out of the way of us tourists. I don't think even an
oddly plumed crow is worth rescuing but if anyone has a different opinion
let me know. There must have been 300 Mallards/Wigeons in the smallish
pond, plus two pair of Northern Shovelers, three Buffleheads and a male
Green-winged Teal. Nine Ring-billed Gulls and seven Kildeer on the lawn.
Still Mew, Bonaparte's and Heerman's Gulls out in the water along with a
few Horned and Red-necked Grebes plus some distant Scoters I couldn't
identify. (Surf, I think) Lots of DC Cormorants and a handful of Belted
Kingfishers at the locks, plus a very few Barrow's Goldeneyes and Common
Mergansers.
