Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

On November 8 three CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPURS and a SANDHILL CRANE were
near Cape Blanco. Another CHETNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR was on the North Spit of
Coos Bay the same day. On November 7 a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was near
the beach at the south end of Siletz Bay. A MANX type SHEARWATER was off
Boiler Bay November 9.

The storms during the week brought large numbers of RED PHALAROPES to the
coast and into the bays and estuaries. The only inland report were two at
the Fernhill Wetlands November 11. The storms also brought many FULMARS and
a few SABINE'S GULLS toward shore.

Large numbers of BROWN PELICANS and HEERMANN'S GULLS pushed southward during
the week and a noticeable increase in LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, BREWER'S
BLACKBIRDS, and ROBINS were reported in the Willamette Valley.

On November 9 a TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw
River and is still being seen. Three LONG-TAILED DUCKS are now at the mouth
of the Siuslaw River and two are at Yaquina Bay. A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was at
Alsea Bay November 9. Two ROCK SANDPIPERS are now at Depoe Bay. Two were at
the South Jetty of the Columbia River November 8. Eleven LAPLAND LONGSPURS
and a PECTORAL SANDPIPER were there the next day. Three WHITE PELICANS were
in Astoria November 8.

A BRANT was near Coon Point on Sauvie Island November 11. That day a large
flock of LESSER GOLDFINCHES was at the Fernhill Wetlands. Two SURF SCOTERS
and a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER were at Fernhill November 13. A BLACK PHOEBE
continues to be seen south of Dayton. A FRANKLIN'S GULL was in a sheep
pasture near Junction City November 12. Two BRANT were at Fern Ridge
Reservoir November 8.

GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES appeared in the Band/Prineville area during the
week on Pilot Butte, Hinkle Butte, Grizzly Butte, and on Hash Rock. On
November 11 two LONG-TAILED DUCKS were in Klamath Falls. A very late CASPIAN
TERN was at the small pond at Christmas Valley November 8.

Thats it for this week.
