Helen Guerra and I helped lead a field trip for Connie Estep's CBC College
nature class today Nov. 16th (mostly non-birder types). We started at the
McNary Wildlife Refuge at Burbank, Walla Walla Co. and finished the day,
with the help of Dennis Rockwell, at Two Rivers Park in Benton Co. where we
had the best bird of the day a Peregrine Falcon (in hot persuit of a
Mourning Dove) and probably the most surprises of the day. The day began
kind of foggy and cold, but eventually turned into a beautiful day with a
good assortment of birds ( 39 species).

At MNWR we saw 27 species (in taxonomic order):

Black-crowned Night-Heron
Canada Goose
Wood Duck
American Wigeon
Mallard
Northern Shoveler
Northern Pintail
Canvasback
Ring-necked Duck
Bufflehead
Northern Harrier

At Two Rivers Park we saw 30 species (in taxonomic order):
