Thanks very much for the information. We saw dozens of
them last year on the beach and never knew what they
were. Oddly, today we also saw one on our way to Fort
Stevens. It was about 1 mile from our house on North
Fork Rd. It's about 5 miles from the ocean outside of
Nehalem. It was right in the road so we stopped but
other than the fact that it seemed out of place it
seemed to be okay so we let it be. Unfortunately when
we came home it had been hit by a car so I assume it
was ill,injured or just terribly confused and someone
finally hit it.
