Spent a beautiful Sunday morning driving a loop through Grant, Douglas, and Chelan counties birding along the way.
My route took me north from Moses Lake on Stratford Road, then west on Road 20 NE, north on Highway 17, West on Highway 2, east on Highway 28, and then south on 17 to Moses Lake. Stops were made whenever interesting birds were observed. Stops were also made at Confluence State Park, Walla Walla Point Park in Wentachee, and Neppel Landing in Moses Lake. The following were the highlights of the trip.

Stratford Rd: Sharp-shinned Hawk ( 1 chasing sparrows)

Road 20 NE: Rough-legged Hawk ( 3 on power poles)
Red-tailed Hawk ( 1 perched in tree)

Highway 17 north: Barow's Goldeneye ( 14 - Lake Lenore)
Canyon Wren ( 2 - Lake Lenore)
Chukar ( 29 - Blue Lake)

Highway 2 : Snow Bunting ( 12 - Milepost 189)
Rough-legged Hawk ( 2 - both soaring)

Confluence State Park:

Cooper's Hawk ( 1 - sitting on the pole at the park entrance)
Hooded Merganser ( 6 - fishing)

Walla Walla Point Park:

Snow Goose ( 1 - in small bay with the Canadas)
Brant ( 1 - with the Canadas also)
Eurasian Widgeon ( 1 - by swimming area)

Neppel Landing Park:

Bald Eagle ( 1 - harrasing the heck out of the birds)
Greater White-fronted Goose ( 1 - this one was picked out only after the Bald Eagle stirred up the birds and was located by sound and then sight)
Partial albino(?) Canada Goose ( still there in the same area and feeding with the flock. The bird flew today so it is capable of flight. I'm not sure if this is a partial albino or a hybrid. If you see it let me know what you think)
Bonapart's Gull ( 31 - still quite a few hanging around)
