Hello Tweeters,

>From my yard in south Kitsap County I often watch waves of Crows fly over in the evening headed for a roost that I assume is near Wicks Lake. Usually they come over fairly high and in groups of 10 to 20. Last night, Sunday, they were much lower, and even stopped off for a time in the tops of my fir trees. We had over 150 birds on our treetops at any one time. By the time the parade had ended, over 700 Crows had crossed by! I've never seen such large numbers here.

My questions are: What is the usual size of a crow roost? Are they permenant? Seasonal? Why were they so low here Sunday? Was weather a factor?

I know there's someone out there that knows a lot about Crows! I'd love to know more. Thanks,

-Rolan
