Hello Tweets,

This afternoon my mother and I briefly checked the Dash Point fishing/crabbing pier between 3pm-3:30pm with fairly limited visibilty conditions due to the low clouds and rather foggy conditions, but we were able to locate up to 8 ANCIENT MURRELETS with moderate searching, with a group of 4 birds present approximately 50 yards offshore and a group of 4 birds flying further offshore in rougher waters. Overall waterbird numbers this afternoon were far less in numbers and diversity compared to our successful afternoon on the 20th. Lingering numbers could still remain in the general vicinity, but probably move around widely in search of food,as well as shifting currents that may move the birds around too. Two birders were present during our visit,in which we presented our exceptional recent photographs of the Ancient Murrelets taken at this location on the 20th,who both observed several Ancient Murrelets during their stay this afternoon. Also prsent during our rather short visit to the Dash Point Park public fishing pier were 8 LONG-TAILED DUCKS(Oldsquaw)that were all observed flying west to east in a loose flock approximately 100 yards offshore north of the fishing pier between Maury and Vashon Islands amongst more common waterbirds species.

Good birding,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
