Tweets - once again I am woefully behind in my reporting, sorry.

Thursday we had surprisingly good conditions, as the fog was all well above
us. It made ID of flying gulls somewhat difficult but it was clear
undermeath. Six of us had a pretty nice day for birding. There were few
surprises, but a pretty good species count.

Highlights:

Common Loon One well out on lake
Hooded Merganser Nice looks at males
Sharp-shinned Hawk Immature - seen a couple of times
Merlin One at Rowing Club - same bird as on
11/14?
Wilson's Snipe One nearly invisible along slough
Fox Sparrow Many, many good looks
Lincoln's Sparrow 3-4 together SW of windmill
Western Meadowlark Eight north of compost piles

I also went out Wednesday afternoon, with the highlight being three separate
sightings of RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER, possibly all of the same bird but
probably two.

Amazingly, no WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW or BUSHTIT either day, and no
CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES despite lots of birding around the mansion area
(where there are lots of Doug Fir).

For Thursday, 53 species. For the year, still 134 species.
