This is the Vancouver Bird Alert for Sunday November 24th, evening update,
sponsored in part by the Wild Birds Unlimited stores in Vancouver and North
Vancouver.

Featured bird(s) is OSPREY.

Sightings for November 24

A very late OSPREY was seen in over-flight near the Semiahmoo Curling Club
in White Rock.

The female BLUE-WINGED TEAL was again reported in front of the Mansion on
Boundary Bay. Also reported from this area were 22 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and
12 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS.

An AMERICAN KESTREL was seen along Deltaport Way.

At the Reifel Refuge were 17 CINNAMON TEAL and 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS.

Saturday, November 23

A NORTHERN SHRIKE and a SHORT-EARED OWL were observed at Colony Farm RP.

Friday, November 22

A flock of 7 CATTLE EGRETS were seen in a field near the intersection of
176th & Fraser Hwy. in Surrey.

A ROCK SANDPIPER was seen near the base of the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty. Also
reported from the Jetty were the WILLET and 2 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS.

Near the base of the Roberts Bank Jetty with a flock of Black-bellied Plover
was a RED KNOT.

At the foot of 64th at Boundary Bay was a LINCOLN'S SPARROW. Near the RR
crossing on 64th was a light morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK.

A MUTE SWAN was seen near the Westham Island Bridge.

Wednesday, November 20

A BLACK OYSTERCATCHER was seen at the unusual location of Beach Grove in
Tsawwassen. Also here were a WESTERN MEADOWLARK and a LESSER YELLOWLEGS.

A female BLUE-WINGED TEAL was reported near the Mansion on Boundary Bay. At
the foot of 96th were 2 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS and 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS.

Tuesday, November 19

A BARN SWALLOW was reported near 208th & Yorkston Creek in north Langley.
