Hi Hope,
Appletree Cove, south of Kingston, is excellent during low tide. Lots of Gull species and shorebirds. A good spot is Arness County Park on the southwest corner of the cove. Right behind you at the park is a saltwater estuary that can be very good if the tide is right. Also, you're not that far from Point-No Point and Foulweather Bluff at the north end of the Peninsula. Both are excellent birding spots at any time. Good luck and good birding!
