I have had several Downy's in my yard over the past year or so. Ten minutes
ago I saw what appeared to be a Downy in my cherry tree. The markings were
the same except under the tail was yellow. No mistaking, it was yellow. No
yellow on breast or head and it did have a red nape. I think Black-backed
have yellow on their tail but they also have yellow markings on head. What do
you think?
