Greetings All

A number of species within WA and the northwest have shown range expansions.
Some seem like obvious results of human induced change, others not so clear
(global warming?).

Within WA, Bewick's Wren and W Scrub Jay are showing a rapid increase in
range. Interestingly, the expansion of Bewick's Wren in e Washington seems at
least partly tied to Russian Olives.

Arriving (or soon to arrive) from Oregon are Red-shouldered Hawks and Black
Phoebes.

Watching these changes take place are part of the fun of going into the
field.

Cheers
