I have not tried to research this, but I saw Horned Larks at 16,000 feet in the Zanskar Mts. in Ladakh (part of Jammu and Kashmir). described by some as "Elwes's Horned Lark." They lacked the yellow facial coloration seen in our local horned larks (in Wyoming), but were otherwise indistinguishable. There were many; I felt right at home.
