A rather slow day at the Fill - well after Connie's 8am visit that is.
It took two visits (1.30 - 3.00pm and 6.15 - 7.30pm) to come up with
something worthwhile but it was well worth the wait:

1 great horned owl - new addition to my Fill list.
3 fox sparrows - calling at dusk at the central pond.
3 canvasbacks
2 green herons
1 downy woodpecker

The owl flew in low over my head from the cottonwoods between the
Center for Urban Horticulture and flew west over to the tall trees
between the central pond and Wahkiakum Lane. Judging by the commotion
generated by the Killdeer on the playing fields it continued over in
that direction.

The Fill never ceases to amaze me.
