My son and I were fishing Dry Falls Lake when we noticed a Peregrine Falcon
chasing a Rock Dove in a twisting turning dive. The Rock Dove ended up
diving onto the water next to a rocky shoreline. The falcon veered off then
flew over a couple of times and left. Apparently, it did not want to fly
onto the water to get the dove. Fran Wood was also there and he reported
seeing a wet Rock Dove trying to dry out on the rocks. He was wondering how
the dove got wet until I told him what we had seen. Some other birds of
interest seen at the lake were 5 Surf Scoters, Northern Pintail, a Canyon
Wren, 2 Red-tailed Hawks, Northern Harrier, a lone sleeping Ruddy Duck.
