Sunday, October 6, 5:39AM. Hi. This is Stephen Mlodinow. Yesterday I
birded Ridgefield and Vancouver Lake. I had two RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, one at
the Carter[?] Unit and one just south of Vancouver Lake on the road that
leads from Vancouver Lake to Post Office Lake. Yesterday was a day for many
lingering species. I had a WARBLING VIREO, a WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, a WESTERN
TANAGER and five BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS. There was an enormous
movement of VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS with over 4000 birds present. At Vancouver
Lake there were two RED-NECKED GREBES and two SURF SCOTERS. At Post Office
Lake there was an EARED GREBE. There was a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW at the
Shillapoo Bottom.
That about covers it. Good luck and good birding.

Sunday, October 6, 10;22 PM. Hi. This is Stephen Mlodinow. Today there
was a BAR-TAILED GODWIT at Tokeland in with about 600 to 700 MARBLED
GODWITS. The bird was a juvenile -- appeared to be a female. Also there was
a PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATER at the North Head Lighthouse at Fort Canby. Two
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS at Leadbetter Point and on the beach between
Leadbetter and Long Beach, there was a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER.
That's it. Good luck and good birding.
