Tweets - the weather gods blessed us this morning, as the night's hard rain
had cleared, and the fog lifted shortly after we started. It was a
glorious, mostly sunny, windless morning. The birds were very active early,
and there were surprises along the way, as well as plenty "quality views".

Highlights:

Western Grebe 1 well out on lake
American Wigeon 1 male in slough near Dog Central
Common Merganser Flock of 35 or so flying south
Sharp-shinned Hawk Couple of sightings, incl 2 over lake
Cooper's Hawk 1 juv. at compost piles. 1 (or GOSH) cruising
south high up.
Pileated Woodpecker Great looks at 2 SE of Dog Central
V.G. SWALLOW 20 or more, mostly over boardwalk. LATE.
Brown Creeper 2 at east end of boardwalk
Western Meadowlark 1 in East Meadow

We also had great looks at FOX SPARROW, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, RUBY-CROWNED
KINGLET, GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER.

49 species on the day.
