My husband and I located the Tropical Kingbird exactly where Ruth and Patrick
Sullivan reported seeing it at the intersection of 101 and the dike road to
Bay Center. Between 10:45-11:00 it stayed mostly on the guide wires on the
powerlines on the east side of 101. After a quick trip to Bay Center, we
passed it again at 11:15 sitting on the county park sign. Thanks to Ruth and
Patrick for posting this bird!

At the pull out at mp 52 we watched a Bald Eagle being harassed by two rock
doves. We only saw one white tailed kite (and a RT hawk), but someone was
burning the hillside so birds may have cleared out from that area.

All along the water were hundreds of pintail, Am wigeon (no Eurasian seen by
us) and mallards. Heron lined the beaches as well.

Other sightings of note-

1:15-1:40 Tokeland Marina (by the picnic tables at the store)
about 70 marbled godwits
1 bar-tailed godwit (pictures taken)
8 willets
1 whimbrel
1 dowitcher
5 western grebes

2:15-2:50 Bottle Beach (the tide was very far out)
No shorebirds on the beach. Besides the usual-
2 Wilson's snipe by the bridge
1 ruby crowned kinglet (hadn't seen them for a long time)
sooty fox sparrow
large flocks of both white and golden crown sparrows

Also of note-
South Bend (at the park leaving town going south)
1 Peregrine falcon
1 bright male goldfinch (seems late)

Beautiful day to be out birding!
