After the 'Duckathon' my wife and I decided to spend Sunday birding at the Confluence State Park. The migration is much later in the valley and there were still a few hangers-on. 19 YRWA were observed with 4 being the Myrtle race. There were no scoters in the river, but after watching the Bald Eagle harassing the waterfowl it is no wonder. The only real surprise was a possible second year HEERMAN'S GULL that offered a flyby. Neither of us was able to view the bird with optics before it disappeared behind the trees heading upriver. The gull was a wonderful dusky gray with no white in the wing so I don't believe it to be a Jaeger (though one was reported in this area earlier). Keep an eye out for this one if you are in the area.

Ps I forgot a name and email on the 'Duckathon' script accept my apologies. Here it is.
