I saw another owl at the Fill last night. Not sure what species it was
- it was pretty dark around 8pm. The bird was pale and medium sized so
it was probably a barn or a short-eared, though I cannot rule out
long-eared. It flew along the "restored" area on the east side of the
dime parking lot then on to the trees around the north pond.

It did not have the stiff, bouncy flight typical of a short-eared and
its wings were bowed like a great blue heron when it flapped so I am
leaning towards it being a barn owl. Since there are a few barn owls
around Magnusson it's not really surprising that the birds might end up
at the Fill.
