This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Bird Alert for Tuesday,
October 15th, October 16th morning update, sponsored in part by the Wild
Birds Unlimited stores in Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Sightings for October 15th

East of the foot of 112th Street, Boundary Bay, were 5 MARBLED GODWITS among
a large roost of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS.

On October 14th, there were 3 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS at the Tsawwassen jetty
compensation lagoon.

October 14th
At Maplewood Conservation Area was a SWAMP SPARROW and 12 RING-NECKED DUCKS.

An AMERICAN DIPPER was seen at Yew Lake on Cypress Mountain.

At the foot of 112th, Boundary Bay were 5 MARBLED GODWITS, while at the foot
of 72nd was an AMERICAN BITTERN.

October 13th

At the foot of 96th, Boundary Bay, were a PEREGRINE FALCON and 11 LAPLAND
LONGSPURS. At the foot of 112th were 2 MERLINS and a CASPIAN TERN.

At Reifel were 4 SANDHILL CRANES, 2 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 5 CINNAMON TEALS, a
SHORT-EARED OWL and the 2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS.

A NORTHERN PYGMY OWL was seen on Mount Seymour and another was seen on
Burnaby Mountain.
