Dear Tweeters,

My wife and I watched a Red-throated Loon go onto land about fifteen years ago. We were at Point Reyes, California. The loon swam up to a sandy beach and wriggled its way onto the sand. It stayed on the sand a couple of minutes, then wriggled back into the water and swam away. That was the lone time I have looked upon a living loon on land.
