Greetings Tweeters,

Ten hardy souls from Tahoma Audubon ventured out to Bainbridge Island this morning despite gloomy weather predictions and and early morning drizzle. Our luck held as the rain stopped early and stayed "off" until after our last stop of the day. We had 47 species, and nothing unusual until Mark Hopkinson spotted something new at the log pond at Blakely Harbor. It turned out to be a beautiful NORTHERN SHRIKE, and the first one most of us had seen around here. It capped a wonderful day that included GREEN WING TEALS in excellent light, some stunning HARLEQUINS, and a fly by from a BALD EAGLE and a COOPER'S HAWK.

Good Birding!

-Rolan
