I must say you photographed the wrong bird.I photographed a female Great-tailed Grackle,which is a great deal smaler than the male.All brown on chest with an eye line what a common dont have.Read Patrick Sullivan's description of this bird on tweeters.

Photographed two birds at Auburn mall 10/22/02 around 12 noon in front of Nordstrom Rack. One is Brewer's Blackbird. The other is about 1.4 times size of brewer's and has larger bill, brownish tones on head, not an unusually large tail. I labeled it a common grackle. Will some take a look at the site linked below and let me know what they think? The color is pretty accurate. Thanks
