This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Bird Alert for Wednesday,
October 23, evening update, sponsored in part by the Wild Birds Unlimited
stores in Vancouver and North Vancouver.

The featured birds are Northern Mockingbird, Snow Bunting, and, out of town,
Yellow-billed Cuckoo.

Sightings for Wednesday, October 23:

The Northern Mockingbird was seen for the 4th consecutive day in Abbotsford
on McDermott Road, between Campbell Road and Number 5 Road.

On the east end of Sumas Mountain there was a large concentration of about
50 migrating raptors including a Golden Eagle.

Two Snow Buntings were at the end of the south jetty at Iona Island.

Out of town, the rare bird alert continues for the Yellow-billed Cuckoo on
Waldie Island in Castlegar.

Tuesday, October 22:

The Northern Mockingbird was seen in Abbotsford.

A Blue Jay was seen at the Mosquito Creek water towers, between Mosquito
Creek and George's Trail in upper North Vancouver.

Colony Farm had 2 American Bitterns and 2 Ring-necked Ducks.

Monday, October 21:

The Northern Mockingbird continued in Abbotsford.
