The last time I saw that reference to Eagles being able to lift 16 pounds
was in a flying magazine from the '50's where ranchers in Wyoming were
taking pride in shooting dozens of Golden Eagles from a Super Cub "so they
won't make off with our calves...they can lift up to 16 pounds," one man
was quoted as saying.

I'm sure they would, if they could, but they can't.
