...................Last Sun. and Mon.: Western Sandpipers; many Least
Sandpipers; and many Semipalmated Plovers at Leadbetter Point Willapa
Bay beach---north Long Beach Peninsula, Wash. Zillions of somewhat
larger shorebirds out on a distant exposed spot at the low tide, but too
far out for scope or binos to clearly see what species. 100s of Gulls,
mainly Ring-billed.
...................Thousands of Sanderlings, along with Black-bellied
Plovers (some still in breeding plumage); a dozen or slightly more
juvenile Short-billed Dowitchers; some Dunlin and Western
Sandpipers--along ocean beach north of Oysterville Rd.
...................Dense fog Sun. made for difficult viewing ( Brown
Pelicans but nothing else could be seen over the ocean!!!), and
increasingly heavy soaking drizzle and lt. rain Mon. aft. made for very
wet clothes. Small, common perching birds like Sparrows, Swallows, and
Chickadees around also.
...................Oh, well!!!!! Cheers!!!!!!
