Hi,

Terry Morse reports that the original group to identify the
Blue-footed Booby was www.fieldguides.com, led by Alvaro Jaramillo.
They relayed on their sighting to Yaquina Head staff and telephoned
Carol Cole--thanks to them for relaying on the sighting!

Terry notes that you can bicycle as well as walk in the Yaquina
Head Outstanding Area for free.

After hearing of the report, Carol Cole called and said that Chuck Philo
and she had seen the booby at 4 PM in about the same location (on the left
side of Colony Rock, which is the largest island adjacent to the observation
deck west of the Lighthouse). She said that it appeared to be an immature
male whose feet were blue but not bright blue.

Cheers!

Range Bayer
