Hi All,

Delia Scholes, Rick Droker & I went up to Skagit WRA near Conway 60 miles n. of Seattle ?and Deception Pass State Park Fidalgo side yesterday. ?We ?had a lone White Fronted Goose, a pretty big migration of bright subspecies Orange Crowned Warblers with Yellow Warblers and Willow Flycatchers mixed in, a huge migration of Violet Green Swallows which must be from way up North (?), Western Tanager, Yellowthroat and 2 or 3 Turkey Vultures. ?At Deception there were Red Crossbills, ?Brown Creeper, a Spotted Sandpiper, Black Oystercatchers and more Orange Crowned Warblers and Cedar Waxwings and a big bat which made us feel pretty ignorant ?(some of the birds had that effect also). ?No Eagles! ?A Coopers, a Sharpy, and two young Peregrines, trash birds that they are.
?Two more things: ?Do any Tweeters members have thoughts on the WDFWs one week Band ?tailed Pigeon hunting season that opens soon?
?And, continuing on the WDFW theme,
?Let?s not let this post from the WDFW die about the heron colony on Camano on 40 acres for $250-300 K. ?Think, if 250 Tweeters can each come up with 1000 bucks, we?ve got it! ?Think of it: TLC, the Tweeters Land Conservancy!!! ? Am I going to get fined for this?
