This season I spent many hours along many miles searching Skagit County
looking and listening for martins and never found any. Scott's
observation today is only the fifth record of purple martins sighted in
Skagit County that Im aware of. To date I have found no specific
records of martins nesting in Skagit County, although Birds of WA
(Jewett et al 1953) specifically lists Mount Vernon as reporting
martins. Does anyone know of any Skagit records or reports of nesting
Purple Martins ?
