Here is an email correction I received to the September 7 entry re Tulalip Bay and the American Avocets:

i sent in the report of 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS in tulalip bay on sept.7,2002. some of the message was garbled, unfortunately. anyways, my name is maxine reid,360-658-7391. tulalip bay is in w.wash. so pretty rare to see avocets on this side- I was as close as 10 feet away from them; they stayed from~ 1pm-8:30pm in the bay-+ i haven't seen them since-i check our bay daily for birds for the past 5 yrs+ that is the first time i've seen avocets there; lots of more common w. side shorebirds in season-thank you,m.reid.
