I went over to Point No Point today with Dick Johnson, Diane Mulholland
and Jessie Stewart -- all from Port Townsend. We arrived at high tide. I
suspect we were a little late but we did see at least three PARASITIC
JAEGERS. There were about 50 COMMON TERNS and 40 BONAPARTES'S GULLS still
there. We also stopped at Foulweather Bluff (two LESSER YELLOWLEGS, one
GREATER, onE SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, 3 PEEP and one DOWITCHER sp. We hit Buck
Lake and the Eglon Boat Landing without anything remarkable but there were a
number of species of dragonflies at Buck Lake.
After leaving the others I stopped in Blyn (foot of Sequim Bay in
Clallam Co.). There were 70 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and one JUVENILE PACIFIC
GOLDEN-PLOVER and 113 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS. A beautiful day. Glad I did
not have to work today.
