Hi Tweeters:
While I generally thought that recent birding at Ocean Shores was poor, I want to belatedly report a couple of bright spots. First, on Sept.. 7, I found a W. scrub jay within the city limits of O.S. near the Cabana pool. This is my first there in about 20 years and certainly demonstrates their range expansion. Second, my wife and I found a Say's phoebe just south of the O.S. sewage treatment plant on Sept. 9. Unless there are other recent records of this species, this is only the second record of Say's phoebe in Ocean Shores. That's it for now.
Good birding,
Bob Woodley
