On September 2nd, Bob Woodley found a second AMERICAN REDSTART in Groves
Park in Richland. This one was not as bright as the one found on August
26. Also present were YELLOW WARBLERS, WARBLING VIREOS, a WESTERN
WOOD-PEWEE and 2 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS.

At the Yakima Delta on September 8, Bill & Nancy LaFramboise, Dennis
Rockwell and Chris Simonen observed 2 GREAT EGRETS, an AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVER, 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER, and a VAUX'S
SWIFT. Later, Bill and Nancy also found a SANDERLING.

On September 9, Patty Pollari observed a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK over her West
Richland home.

Although Bateman Island is still closed to the public for habitat
restoration after last year's fire, Lower Columbia Basin Audubon is
conducting bird counts there. During the count of September 11, Nancy
LaFramboise, Ruth Fischer, and Chris Simonen located a BLACKPOLL WARBLER
among Yellow-rumped and Orange-crowned Warblers.

On the Hanford Reservation on September 17, Tom Clarke observed a TURKEY
VULTURE.
