Beautiful moonrise over the trees on Laurelhurst last evening. A late
run around the Fill paid off handsomely:

1 common nighthawk flying around shovelor pond.
2 long-billed dowitchers on the central pond.

As far as I know this is the first nighthawk record for quite some time
and might be the second best bird of the year at the Fill, behind
Dennis Paulson's sage thrasher.
