Spent the day lurking around the western end of the Game Range hoping
to photograph some golden plovers - no lack of birds but it was foggy
and heavily overcast so no luck.

39 golden plovers - 22 confirmed pacific, 17 unknown but only pacifics
were heard calling
2 pectoral sandpipers
1 Baird's sandpiper
5 lapland longspurs
15-20 american pipits
2 peregrine falcons
5 northern harriers
2 red-tailed hawks
1 belted kingfisher
17 killdeer - was 18 but a peregrine got one.

30 northern shovelors on the sewage ponds.

At Marine View Drive:

1 red knot
17 dowitchers
6-800 black-bellied plover
1000+ western sandpipers
<10 dunlin
<10 sanderling

Point Brown:

hundreds of sooty shearwaters, brown pelicans and heermans gulls
feeding close inshore.
8 black turnstones.

I stopped in a Hoquiam STP to look for the shapr-tailed between 6.30pm
and 7.00pm. No sign of the bird but it was rather gloomy so the bird
might have been tucked out of sight. Also saw:

6 long-billed dowitchers
4 least sandpipers
20 western sandpipers
8 killdeer
