I have been observing G. H. Owls, mother and two owlets, for about three
weeks. Last week I noticed one owlet more active and larger than the other.
Today I noticed what appeared to be one owlet eating something that appeared
in color to be the other owlet. I thought it might be a rabbit, but I noticed
only Mom and one owlet. The owlet, who is almost as large as Mom, was jumping
up and down on the yum yum, which was obviously in the bottom of the nest. Is
this behavior normal for Great Horned Owlets?
