Hi Tweets,
This afternoon I stopped by Birchfield Road east of Yakima to see if the
Common Grackle had resurfaced. It hasn't.
While I was there I spotted a Common (Eurasian) Teal in the pasture next to
the big ditch that runs parallel with Birchfield Road on the west side of
the road. Before I could get my camera onto my scope, it flew up the ditch
that runs across the pasture away from the road. It spent the next hour in
the vicinity of a large willow tree along side the ditch. It is the only
tree in the pasture so it isn't hard to find. It was so far away that my
photos turned out poorly but there is always tomorrow.
There are four or five Green-winged Teal and ten American Wigeon in the
ditch, also.
The viewing area is about 80 yards south of the corrals that the grackle
spent a lot of time in last spring.
