Hi Tweeters,

Some of you may remember that I had a pair of Mandarin ducks visit my yard
last Spring. I put up a duck box for them, but they didn't use it and I
didn't see any ducklings. They just came daily to the stream in my yard to
eat and stay for the night, where nearby unknown. Now they've returned for
another season in my yard, and I'm again hoping they'll have some ducklings.
I put out cracked corn for them, but they seem also to be eating the mixed
bird seed on the ground nearby. If anyone has suggestions on how to promote
nesting, please let me know. Also, does this make them a wild pair now that
they seem to be migrating on a regular basis?

Another question I have is about the male varied thrush who is still here
after spending the winter...will he find a female soon or stay on alone?
