Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 10. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

The spring migration is progressing with YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS and
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS the most conspicuous during the week. A
WILSON?S WARBLER was at Cape Meares April 5. Good numbers of TUFTED PUFFINS
are now on Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach. Shorebirds are moving with the
first SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER at Coos Bay April 9.

A BREWER?S SPARROW was at Skamania, WA April 2. A SAY?S PHEBE was near the
Portland Airport April 5, and another was on Mt Tabor in southeast Portland
April 6. A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was at a southeast Portland feeder during
the week. A BLACK-NECKED STILT was seen April 3 at a roadside pond near the
Ripplebrook Ranger Station in the Cascades above Estacada.

Four WHITE-TAILED KITES were at McMinnville April 6. A BLACK PHOEBE was at
Creswell April 7. BLUE-WINGED TEAL are now in the Rogue Valley.

On April 9 two AVOCETS were at the Prineville Sewage ponds and four
BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Huston Lake near Powell butte. EASTERN KINGBIRDS
are now at Jordan Valley.
