Greetings Tweeters,

I went early today as of 7AM and stayed to 12pm. I mostly watched the Ruff
right after 7am,than I lost him about for 45 minutes, but it disappeared
again.I took some photos of the aberrant Greater Yellowlegs.Three Common
Yellowthroat was singing constantly and the 50 yellowlegs calling loudly all
over the large field. Two Black-bellied Plovers and one Long-billed
Dowitcher and many snipes. The marsh wrens scolded me loudly but getting
closer they didn't make a sound. It was fun standing in the most pleasant
weather watching the birds shifting around. The Ruff was feeding constantly
or was preening and I assume the shorebirds eat more to fatten up for the
long migration north. Our first Adult White-crowned Sparrow arrived today
in our yard as is a lingering Slate-colored Junco, this is 11 days early for
our area we not having the habitat for Sparrows, other than the Song Sparrows
We received our issue of " OREGON BIRDS" today. The quarterly Journal of
Oregon field Ornithology. What a surprise it was in "COLOR" It is a big
Issue 65 Pages with lot's of photos

Cheers,

Ruth Sullivan
