Barb and I went for a short ride this evening to 'Birder's Corner'
(intersection of Dodson Road and Frenchman Hills Road, Delorme pg. 52, A &
4). Our route took us down Rd 'M' NE to HWY 262 and then on to Frenchman
Hills Road.
Our goal was to observe the Burrowing Owls that have taken up residence in
the artificial burrow in the area and possibly get some pics.
It turned out to be a very birdy evening and the following highlight were
observed.

Potholes Reservoir:
Common Loon - 6 (the most seen this year)
Western Grebe - several

HWY 262:
Swainson's Hawk - 2 one dark-morph adult and one light-morph adult (the
first this year)

Frenchman Hills Road:
Osprey - 1 (kiting over a pond)

Birder's Corner:
Black-necked Stilt - 18
Greater Yellowlegs - 2
Cinnamon Teal - 9 (5 drakes, 4 hens)
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 near the entrance of the parking lot with a large
group of White-crowned Sparrows.
HARRIS'S SPARROW - 1 with the same group of White-crowned Sparrows.
Burrowing Owl - 2, a mate has arrived at last.

Pochards were many at Birder's Corner with Lesser Scaup and Canvasback
making up the bulk of the birds with a few Redheads and Ring-necked Ducks
mixed in.

It appears that the migration is picking up substantially and the next month
will be very good. Good luck to you all and good birding.
