Guy,

I went for my first time last May, and picked up 17 lifers, but it
depends on what you're looking for. I went looking for Pink-Footed
Shearwaters, Sabine's Gulls, Black-Footed Albatros, and Fork-Tailed
Storm-Petrels, and I found all of them. I'm told it can be a pretty
good time for rarities as well. If you're looking for things like
Buller's Shearwaters, Skuas, or Jeagers, September is probably your
best time (that said, we did see both Parasitic and Pomarine in May).
Your best bet for the best information would be to go to
www.westportseabirds.com or to talk to Bruce LaBar or Ryan Shaw, they
both know their stuff a lot better than I do. Bruce, Ryan, any advice?
