Hi All:

The ospreys have returned to the nest just north of Herring House Park,
south of the West Seattle bridge. They were not back last weekend.

Highlights:
Copulation attempt yesterday - male stood on her back for about 7 seconds
and flew off. :-)
Territorial encounter between two males today - "resident" drove off the
other male (eating a fish on a transmission tower north of the nest),
returned to the nest, and copulated with the female. This time, he didn't
just stand there.
