Sightings for April 13

On April 12, a BLACK-NECKED STILT was reported at Robert Lake, in Kelowna
(WC).

The LONG-TAILED DUCK was again seen at the Osoyoos Sewage Ponds, near the
Osoyoos Golf Course on the 12th (GW,m.ob).

Also on the 12th, both ROCK and CANYON WRENS were at the Vaseux Cliffs
(GW,m.ob).

A breeding plumage DUNLIN was reported at the Head of the Lake, near Vernon
(DC).


Sightings for April 11

A DUNLIN, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 3 AMERICAN AVOCETS were seen at Robert
Lake in Kelowna (HV,JM).

At the Maude Roxby Bird Sanctuary in Kelowna, was a PACIFIC LOON (HV)and a
TUNDRA SWAN (JC).

Three TURKEY VULTURES were at Munson's Pond, off Benvoulin Rd, in Kelowna
(JM).


Sightings for April 10

Two AMERICAN AVOCETS were at Robert Lake in Kelowna (CC,BC). Also seen at
Robert Lk was a DUNLIN (SM).

The male EURASIAN WIGEON continues at Munson's Pond in Kelowna (CC).

At Thomson-Brook Pond, on Gordon Rd, in Kelowna, was a CLIFF SWALLOW and a
LINCOLN'S SPARROW (CC).

5 WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS were seen over Dilworth Mtn, in Kelowna (CC). The
best viewing is from the Kelowna Cemetery.

With various gulls at the Maude Roxby Bird Sanctuary, in Kelowna, was an
adult THAYER'S GULL (CC). A male BLUE-WINGED TEAL was seen along the shore
at Maude Roxby (RT), while offshore were at least 100 WESTERN GREBES (CC).

A pair of GREAT HORNED OWLS were hooting in the daylight at Belgo Pond, in
Kelowna's Rutland area (CC).

The first OSPREYS of the spring were reported on the 9th, with one at
Sutherland Park, in Kelowna (GW), and one at Green Bay in Westbank (EF).
