Just a quick note to say that yesterday (04/14) I saw my first Purple
Martins of the year on East Bay in Olympia. A pair were flying about the
southern end where the martin houses are.

Also had a brief glimpse of the Harlequin Duck in flight at Luhr Beach. All
waterfowl were pretty distant as the tide was out. There was a tremendous
flock of Dunlin on the Nisqually flats, possibly as many as 1,000...who
knows what was lurking in their midst.
