Hi Tweets

Michael and family are off to Oregon for a few days, so I substituted as
record keeper for him this morning at Marymoor. The day started off
overcast, about 48F, but no wind. We had some sun by the end of the
walk. 11 people joined me and two from Huntington Beach CA joined later.

Notable birds today were the Osprey on the nest near the velodrome, Matt
had the Barn Owl near the mansion again this morning, Pine Siskins with
nesting material in the south mansion area, the Red-breasted Sapsucker
at it's "usual" spot early, Hugh had one Barn Swallow early over the
river, five Bald Eagles (3 imm.), Red-tailed Hawk on the snag nest, two
American Pipits over east near the ballfields (thanks Bruce), and a
Townsend's Warbler near the windmill.

Oh yes, a giant hole in the Marymoor list was filled in the rowing club
parking lot - a Hutton's Vireo made itself known with nice views for
Bruce, Matt, Ollie and myself. No black behind the wing bars, broken eye
ring, slightly larger head, slightly larger overall appearance. This is
a bird we have been looking for at Marymoor for 10 years, and had
basically given up hope of seeing.

Lots of birds singing, nest building activity, with a Green Heron on the
nest. The Osprey is back at the nest near the velodrome and we had a
very nice view of it later along the river. It circled several times in
bright sunlight and then settled in a tree. Several good looks at both
male and female Tree Swallows.

All in all, a very nice day.
